As we approach the end of 2023, it's with gratitude that we reach out to express our appreciation for the support you've shown us throughout the year. We want to take a moment to reflect on the milestones, the challenges, and most importantly, the shared commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
One of the most profound experiences we had this year was visiting our Fair Trade artisan partners in March. Stepping onto familiar grounds after four years was a poignant moment, filled with happy reunions and a renewed sense of purpose. Being in the presence of our talented artisans and reconnecting with the NGOs we collaborate with was the highlight of our year. After many years of working together, they are like family to us and we feel a genuine affection for each and every person who contributes to our collection. Witnessing the dedication and skill that goes into every handmade product also reaffirmed the importance of the work we do.
While in Bangladesh, we learned how recent years have brought about some challenges for our artisans, including - like all of us - an increase in the cost of living. The global economic turndown has also led to a decrease in orders, further compounding their situation. As always they navigate their way through any hurdles with resilience, adaptability and a smile. Despite the challenges, it was heartwarming to see the positive changes that have unfolded since our last visit, thanks in no small part to your ongoing support.
Observing and listening about the difference true Fair Trade can make to the artisans lives in person only strengthened our resolve. Our partnership is about so much more than business; it's a collaborative effort to empower women, preserve handcrafting skills, and promote sustainability. Your choice to purchase something from us has a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the aesthetics of each piece – it touches the lives of individuals, families, and entire communities.
As we look forward to 2024, we are excited to announce that next year marks our 20th anniversary. Over the years, we've navigated through the ever-changing landscape of commerce, but our dedication to ethical practices has remained unwavering. This upcoming milestone is a testament to the genuine commitment we've had to our Fair Trade, handmade and sustainable values and how we have learnt to bridge them with well-designed products that our customer’s love. We're immensely proud of the positive impact we've made, and we're even more determined to continue this journey into the future.
