There are over 500 carefully handmade tassels in every Jumbo Tassel Wall Hanging. Each tassel begins with the same length and quantity of jute. The jute is folded and bound around the top with fine hand-twisted jute twine. The tassels are then tied by hand - one by one, row upon row - to a base piece of intricate jute macrame.
2. Handcrafted with Care
It takes our artisan partners approximately two weeks to make each wall hanging. Artisans work from the verandahs of their homes in small village communities in rural Bangladesh. Often a couple of women from the same family - mother and daughter, sisters or cousins - will work together as they craft each wall hanging for us. Through a genuine Fair Trade partnership, we ensure these talented women are paid fairly for their time and skills.
3. Sustainable and Local
In keeping with our sustainability commitment, each wall hanging is made with high quality natural blonde jute that has been grown and harvested without chemicals. 25% of the jute is sourced from local farmers, which helps to support the local economy and contributes to improving the quality of life in small rural communities.

Ideal for filling a large wall, the Jumbo Tassel Wall Hanging has the added benefit of absorbing sound and improving the acoustics in areas of your home that have a lot of glass, tiles or high ceilings such as a stairwell, hallway or in open plan living.
